The PLASE Local Workshops bring together educators from participating schools to explore and implement Place-Based Education (PBE) within their own communities.
Each workshop combines hands-on activities, reflection, and collaborative dialogue, encouraging participants to connect educational strategies with local history, culture, and natural resources. Field explorations, such as nature walks, visits to local sites, and investigations of toponyms or cultural landmarks, provide tangible experiences that inspire the creation of meaningful learning activities.
Through these local workshops, educators share practical ideas, co-develop teaching strategies, and strengthen connections between schools, students, and their communities, fostering experiential learning that highlights local identity, sustainability, and civic engagement.
