Officine Apogeo is a cultural and scientific association founded in 1997 with the belief that science can be understood by everyone. It plays an important role in the landscape of science communication in Italy. Since its founding, the association has been dedicated to promoting scientific culture, guided by two core principles: experimentation, as the foundation of scientific knowledge, and interactivity, which allows participants to engage directly with phenomena and become active contributors to the learning process.

Throughout the years, Officine Apogeo has built a bridge between scientific research and public outreach. By illustrating scientific phenomena with accuracy and clarity, and by involving participants in hands-on experiences and observations, the association has developed a strong model of public engagement. Many of its activities have allowed people—especially young audiences—to interact directly with science through simple experiments and experiential learning.

Officine Apogeo has a long history of collaboration with schools, making it a valuable partner for awareness campaigns and educational initiatives aimed at children, youth, and adults. It has also been active in organizing cultural events such as astronomical evenings, planetarium shows, scientific exhibitions, public lectures, and workshops tailored to students, educators, and the general public.

Over the years, Officine Apogeo has developed unique expertise in setting up temporary, multipurpose laboratories for adult education centers, schools, and youth associations. These labs have supported a wide range of disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology (botany and zoology), geology, mathematics, and astronomy—even in environments with no existing lab facilities. The association also engages in social-emotional and participatory learning through storytelling and creative activities.

One particularly notable experience has been the delivery of chemistry labs for middle and high school students in collaboration with major Italian universities such as Tor Vergata and La Sapienza in Rome. Officine Apogeo has also led numerous projects that bring young people to museums for cultural, hands-on learning experiences.
