SVEB

Since 1951, SVEB (Swiss Federation for Adult Learning) has been a pioneer in the field of adult education in Switzerland. We have consistently advocated for a forward-looking and effective adult learning system, and have committed ourselves to ensuring high-quality learning opportunities across the country. Our work is guided by high standards, with a strong focus on developing innovative approaches to adult education and improving the structural conditions that support it. A well-connected network of diverse stakeholders is a central objective and forms the foundation of our activities.

SVEB represents over 750 members, including both private and public adult education institutions, professional associations, in-house training departments, and individual experts. Our funding comes from membership fees, public subsidies, national and European project participation, and the sale of services, products, and publications. Since 2017, SVEB has operated under a performance agreement with the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), which supports a significant portion of our core activities.

Our work focuses on several key areas: shaping education policy, fostering development and innovation, promoting professionalisation in the sector, and strengthening communication, marketing, event planning, and networking.

SVEB’s participation in this project is financed by Movetia, the Swiss national agency for exchange and mobility, which supports Switzerland’s involvement in international cooperation projects in education and training.
